Overview

The Senior Pricing Analyst in the Payment Operations department is responsible for delivering timely analysis and insights to support product development and customer pricing decisions. This role involves analyzing margins and profitability by product and client to enhance decision-making, transaction routing, and spend analysis. The analyst will provide detailed full-cost pricing analyses for prospective and existing clients and monitor current client margins. Collaboration with Pricing, Finance, Settlement, Product, Analytics, and Sales teams is essential. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate transaction routing functionality within payment gateway products and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to reduce costs and maximize revenue.
  • Analyze new product initiatives, assess ROI and monetization opportunities, and recommend investment strategies.
  • Conduct statement analyses for pricing new prospects and recommend strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Provide cost and revenue analyses with recommendations for repricing existing accounts.
  • Audit client profitability by measuring hard and soft costs against revenue.
  • Advise Pricing Manager and Sales on pricing adjustments to improve margins and deepen understanding of profitability by client and product.
  • Work effectively in cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Support the Pricing team through knowledge sharing and ensuring redundancy.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; expert-level Excel skills highly desired.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environment.
  • Understanding of payments and banking industry concepts including credit cards, ACH, chargebacks, and returns.
  • Strong attention to detail, investigative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time-management, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in a complex, changing environment.
  • Familiarity with conferencing technologies such as Zoom and GoTo Meeting.
  • Flexibility to function efficiently during urgent situations.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage high volumes of projects and prioritize effectively.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in financial services or pricing roles.
  • At least 1 year of payments industry experience focused on interchange, pricing, and merchant profitability.

Location

Position is based in Folsom, CA, with remote work expected.
