Overview
A high-performing Technical Program Office team specializing in Revenue Recognition is seeking an experienced professional to support strategic customer transactions. This role involves applying deep technical accounting and finance expertise to ensure revenue is recognized in full compliance with U.S. GAAP (primarily ASC 606 and ASC 842) and aligned with organizational policies on Revenue Recognition, Internal Controls, Finance & Accounting, and Business Practices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain thorough and current knowledge of Revenue Recognition, Internal Controls, Business Practices, and Finance & Accounting policies
- Review and discuss assessments of non-standard, complex transactions internally and communicate accounting conclusions to external stakeholders
- Ensure consistent application of Revenue Recognition policies, practices, and processes; promote continuous improvement
- Collaborate with external stakeholders during the pre-execution stage of contracts to provide revenue recognition guidance on deal structures and advise on risk minimization and revenue maximization
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders; promote a collaborative work environment and provide training
- Stay informed on Technical Program Office objectives and initiatives
- Review significant signed contracts for compliance with US GAAP ASC 606 and Revenue Recognition Policy to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Maintain working knowledge of Global Revenue Recognition systems, databases, and communication tools
- Provide support to internal and external auditors and assist in special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 4 years of revenue recognition experience under ASC 606 and US GAAP at a cloud service provider
- Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
- Public accounting experience is a plus
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical accounting acumen with the ability to comprehend and apply technical guidance to complex scenarios
- Ability to present and effectively communicate complex accounting issues
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, remote, and demanding environment
- Highly customer-focused and results-oriented
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional language skills such as Spanish or Portuguese are a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- US hiring range: $79,100 - $158,200 per year
