Overview
This role supports the development and ongoing updates of the organization’s CPA and EA curriculum with a focus on tax. The Senior Specialist is expected to apply technical expertise and knowledge of the accounting profession to deliver high-quality learning and continuing education for accounting professionals.
Responsibilities
- Write content as needed.
- Review CPA course materials developed by subject matter experts (SMEs), including textbooks and lectures.
- Write and/or review CPA course questions, flashcards, and other course components.
- Provide guidance to the production team on images to be used in course materials.
- Train SMEs on the use of CPA course templates.
- Assist in the maintenance of CPA mapping to technical guidance.
- Assist in the development of curriculum for custom content projects.
- Monitor developments and trends in the accounting profession and plan timely updates to course material to address these developments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and respond to inquiries.
- Manage the development process and timelines for course content developed by SMEs.
- Use instructional design principles to effectively convey technical accounting concepts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business, finance and/or accounting required; master’s degree preferred.
- CPA required.
- 5–10 years of experience in the accounting and tax profession, with content or technical development preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong organizational and resource management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.
