Overview

A growing public company is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join their finance team. This role reports to the Tax Manager and offers significant visibility and impact within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong tax and accounting background, proven technical skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Corporate Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing the tax provision (ASC 740), including current and deferred tax calculations for a public company
  • Prepare federal, state, and international income tax returns, estimates, and extensions
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with US GAAP
  • Support preparation of tax-related disclosures for SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q), including footnote preparation and management review
  • Prepare and maintain monthly tax account reconciliations
  • Maintain tax information, records, and documentation to support audit-ready workpapers

Tax Audits & Controversy

  • Assist with IRS and state income tax audits, including preparation of responses and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate with external advisors and legal counsel on tax audit matters and controversy resolution
  • Monitor and analyze existing and proposed tax legislation; assess and communicate impact to the business

Tax Research & Planning

  • Research complex tax issues and prepare technical documentation and memoranda
  • Support tax planning initiatives, including analysis of business transactions, restructurings, and new business models
  • Assist with merger and acquisition (M&A) due diligence and integration tax planning
  • Support federal and state R&D tax credit calculations and related documentation
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and special tax analyses as needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and Operations teams to integrate tax considerations into business decisions and processes
  • Collaborate with Payroll and HR teams on employment tax matters, equity compensation (RSUs, stock options), and related reporting (W-2, 1099)
  • Work with Treasury on cash tax forecasting, intercompany transactions, and transfer pricing support
  • Coordinate with IT and Finance Systems teams to support tax data integrity and reporting automation
  • Liaise with external auditors during year-end audit process to support tax-related inquiries and deliverables
  • Support the Tax Manager in communicating tax positions and requirements to senior leadership and stakeholders

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including public accounting and/or industry (preferably technology or SaaS)
  • CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation strongly preferred
  • Experience in a publicly traded company environment is a plus

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740 (income tax accounting) and US GAAP
  • Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets for tax modeling and analysis
  • Experience with tax compliance and provision software (e.g., OneSource, CorpTax, or similar)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Workday Financials is a plus
  • Understanding of transfer pricing concepts and intercompany transaction documentation
  • Exposure to state and local tax (SALT) compliance and nexus analysis

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range for U.S.-based candidates: $94,700 - $126,700 USD
  • Compensation outside the U.S. varies by location and will be discussed during hiring
  • Total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package

Location
