Overview
A Senior Tax Manager, CPA is sought to join a tax department with options for remote or hybrid work arrangements. This role requires extensive public accounting experience and strong leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Review tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, gift and estate returns, trusts, joint ventures, noncorporate entities, and combined state tax returns
- Review complex individual tax returns
- Manage and develop income tax and financial planning clients
- Collaborate with tax partners and staff on client management, practice development, and business development
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, and lead change efforts
- Consult and advise clients on business and process improvements
- Supervise multiple engagements in partnership and individual taxation
- Prepare year-end projections
- Conduct tax research on various issues
- Mentor associates and guide them on tax matters
- Maintain strong oral and written presentation skills
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of public accounting experience
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience
- Broad understanding of tax law with specialized knowledge in partnerships, high-net-worth individuals, corporate taxation, pass-through entities, estate and gift tax, investment advisory, and/or financial planning
- Ability to prepare working trial balances and year-end adjusting entries
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
- CPA certification required
- Strong technical expertise in tax preparation, review, compliance, and research
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and CCH Axcess
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary target: $115,000 - $185,000, determined by market demand, education, experience, and skill set
