Senior Trader

Overview

This role involves hands-on trading and treasury responsibilities, focused on executing multi-asset trading strategies and managing FX and digital asset exposures, liquidity, and treasury operations across global markets. Work spans G20 and emerging-market FX, fixed income, derivatives, and digital assets/stablecoins.

In addition to day-to-day execution, the role includes building and improving trading and treasury workflows, leveraging AI tools and automation to enhance efficiency, market analysis, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

High-Impact Execution

• Execute multi-asset trades across FX, digital assets, and fixed income across global corridors with high precision, speed, and strict risk discipline.
• Build and manage the firm’s OTC book, actively sourcing the next high-value trading opportunities for the desk.
• Devise and implement execution strategies to maximise risk-adjusted returns.

Treasury & Risk Management

• Manage real-time FX and digital asset exposures within defined limits, running hedging and inventory positioning across 30+ currencies.
• Own intraday and end-of-day treasury operations across banks, OTC desks, exchanges, and digital wallets, maximising capital efficiency and generating yield from idle funds.

Partner & Counterparty Strategy

• Help manage and expand the network of liquidity providers and OTC counterparties.
• Onboard partners, benchmark pricing performance, and reduce single points of failure across active trading corridors.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Commercial teams on settlement flows, transaction monitoring, and business development.

AI, Tooling & Process Innovation

• Champion AI tools and automation to streamline daily desk reporting, market analysis, and treasury forecasts, reducing manual effort.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in FX, OTC execution, treasury, or liquidity management at a buy-side/sell-side institution, bank, broker, crypto firm, or fintech.
• Advanced proficiency using industry-standard trading software and financial data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal).
• Strong multi-asset knowledge across global financial markets, including FX (G20 & EM), fixed income products, derivatives, and digital assets; hands-on digital asset trading experience is a major plus.
• Active familiarity with AI tools and automation methods to optimise personal workflows, solve complex operational challenges, and scale desk capacity.
• Highly numerate with advanced Excel capabilities; experience with SQL, Python, or building custom trading/treasury tools is a major bonus.
• Strong risk fundamentals, with the ability to make quick, well-calibrated decisions in live, fast-moving markets.
• Clear, confident communication skills to lead partner discussions; bias toward action, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced execution-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building custom trading or treasury tools.
• Experience trading digital assets.
