Overview

This role involves managing end-to-end accounts payable operations within a remote-first organization focused on mental healthcare. The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will handle vendor invoice processing, employee travel and expense reimbursements, and cash movement activities across banking platforms. The position requires strong attention to detail, financial judgment, and a proactive approach to improving processes and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Execute full-cycle accounts payable processes independently
  • Process vendor invoices and employee travel and expense reimbursements
  • Manage electronic payments including wires, ACH transactions, and other banking activities
  • Utilize procurement and expense management platforms to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to support smooth financial workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-growth environment
  • Experience with procurement and expense management platforms such as Zip, Ramp, BILL, or similar
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent practical experience
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
  • Experience initiating and managing electronic payments, wires, ACH transactions, and other banking activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience at a high-growth startup
  • 5+ years of accounts payable experience with mastery of full-cycle AP workflows
  • Experience supporting month-end close activities, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Workday, Oracle, or similar platforms
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements or automation opportunities
