Overview
This role involves supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to deliver data-driven financial and operational analyses that inform strategic decision-making, business planning, and future investment areas. The position is responsible for all FP&A activities within a specific business area, with opportunities to expand coverage to other business lines and operations over time.
The FP&A team collaborates cross-functionally with departments such as Operations, Accounting, Implementation, and Sales, and partners with company stakeholders including executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Produce monthly financial packages and reports including business intelligence and key performance indicators (KPIs) with commentary on key business drivers.
- Present recent financial performance and trends for the business area during monthly FP&A meetings and other forums.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and data requests, highlighting unexpected variances or trends and engaging business leaders to investigate.
- Coordinate forecasting and budgeting processes with business leaders, identifying opportunities and gathering input on key assumptions.
- Assist department leaders with FP&A and ancillary finance functions such as reporting, coordination with Accounting and Payroll, job requisitions, open role planning, and department P&L forecasting.
- Customize companywide FP&A tools to meet the unique needs of the business area.
- Provide business updates and process recommendations to the Finance team based on challenges and opportunities.
- Liaise with other Finance teams (e.g., Actuarial, Accounting) to maintain accurate forecasting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the assigned business area.
- Build and maintain forecast models ensuring consistency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Continuously improve financial models as the business evolves and expands.
- Provide detailed analysis explaining monthly variances and impacts on future forecasts.
- Publish an annual budget and monthly forecasts with variance bridges.
- Create, automate, and maintain financial reporting tools.
- Partner with Accounting to investigate variances versus forecasts.
- Collaborate with Financial Information Systems to enhance Adaptive Insights functionality, automate reporting, and develop process automation initiatives.
- Manage Workday and Adaptive financial data in partnership with Talent, Workday, and Finance teams (e.g., project codes, capitalization codes, cost centers).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of FP&A or relevant finance experience with substantial financial modeling expertise; experience from an institution with a training, rotational, or development program is preferred.
- Experience with Workday and Adaptive Insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to derive insights from financial data and translate them into business analytics and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or exposure to healthcare, pricing, and/or operational analytics.
- Ability to work Eastern Time Zone business hours.

Compensation & Benefits
- The expected base salary range for this position is $85,000.
- The total compensation package includes comprehensive benefits, including health insurance for qualifying employees.
- Compensation is based on skills and experience and may vary above or below the stated amount.
