Overview

This role is for a Senior Analyst specializing in Oracle EPM & FP&A Systems, working remotely. The position is responsible for the design, administration, and optimization of Oracle's Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) environment, which supports Medicare Advantage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic modeling. The role partners closely with FP&A teams, Corporate Finance leadership, and the Senior Director of Enterprise Financial Systems to ensure planning models, data pipelines, and reporting tools are accurate, performant, and support agile decision-making.

This position is critical in a Medicare Advantage context where annual CMS bid submissions, medical cost forecasting, and Stars/Risk Adjustment financial modeling require precise, real-time planning data.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimize the Oracle Cloud EPM (Planning & Budgeting / PBCS/EPBCS) or Hyperion Planning/Essbase environment to maintain stability, performance, and alignment with business needs.
  • Design and maintain complex Business Rules, Calculation Scripts, and Member Formulas for driver-based planning models.
  • Architect and maintain automated data pipelines between Oracle Fusion Cloud GL and EPM Planning cubes using Data Management (FDMEE) or EPM Integration Agent.
  • Manage synchronization of key dimensions (Entity, Cost Center, Product, Plan Type) across ERP and FP&A systems to ensure consistent, audit-ready metadata.
  • Build and maintain executive dashboards, Web Forms, and Narrative Reports using Oracle EPM Infolets and Financial Reporting Studio.
  • Support FP&A analysts with Smart View configuration and best practices.
  • Configure Oracle Predictive Planning and Auto-Predict features to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Assist in building technical "what-if" scenarios for strategic financial events.
  • Maintain cell-level security, security filters, and data access controls to protect sensitive financial data.
  • Document all metadata changes, script modifications, and system configurations to comply with SOX audit requirements.
  • Provide Tier 3/4 escalation support for complex Oracle EPM incidents during critical periods.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and implement preventive controls to ensure system reliability.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Expected to provide technical mentorship to junior analysts and may serve as technical lead for EPM-related projects.

After-Hours & Business Continuity Support

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical EPM system issues outside standard business hours.
  • Be available for elevated support during peak planning windows such as Annual Operating Plan season, quarterly forecasts, and CMS bid preparation.

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on technical experience with Oracle EPM Cloud (PBCS/EPBCS) or Hyperion Planning/Essbase supporting FP&A business units.
  • Proven expertise designing, building, and troubleshooting Essbase (ASO and BSO) multidimensional models, Business Rules, Calc Scripts, and MDX queries in production.
  • Experience leading or serving as technical lead on at least two full-cycle Oracle EPM Cloud implementations or major upgrades.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance concepts including Budgeting vs. Actuals, Rolling Forecasts, Zero-Based Budgeting, and Capital Planning.
  • Experience with data privacy and financial compliance requirements such as SOX and HIPAA related to EPM governance and data access.
  • Background in regulated healthcare, insurance, or financial services environments.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or related field with a strong technical background; equivalent professional experience considered.

Training

  • Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with Oracle EPM Cloud through formal implementation or sustained production support.
  • Working knowledge of FDMEE or EPM Integration Agent for ERP-to-EPM data management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Oracle EPM Cloud (PBCS/EPBCS) or Hyperion Planning system administration, Business Rules, and Calc Scripts.
  • Essbase (ASO & BSO) multidimensional modeling and MDX querying.
  • Oracle Smart View configuration and end-user support.
  • Data Management / FDMEE and EPM Integration Agent expertise.
  • Financial planning domain knowledge (BVA, Rolling Forecasts, ZBB, Capital Planning).
  • Scripting and automation skills (Groovy, Python, or PowerShell) for EPM business rule automation.
  • SOX compliance, cell-level security, and EPM governance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Medicare Advantage, managed care, or health insurance organizations, especially supporting medical cost forecasting, Stars performance modeling, or CMS bid planning.
  • Experience with Oracle Predictive Planning, Auto-Predict, or AI-assisted forecasting.
  • Exposure to Oracle EPM and Oracle Fusion Cloud GL integration in production.
  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • Coursework or background in healthcare finance, actuarial science, or managed care economics.
  • Oracle EPM Cloud: Planning Implementation Professional certification.
  • Oracle Financials Cloud: General Ledger Implementation Professional certification.
  • Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close certification.
  • Proficiency in Groovy scripting for advanced EPM business rules automation.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $113,332.00 - $169,999.00, based on factors including market location, education, responsibilities, and experience.
