Overview

The Finance Operational Analyst Senior provides financial support for critical areas and time-sensitive processes such as the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and the month-end closing cycle. This role involves preparing various financial activities including data gathering, trending, modeling, forecasting, planning, and reporting. The analyst collects information from multiple departments to build models that offer insights into underlying business dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial and business-related analyses, research, and forecasts.
  • Perform advanced trend and variance analyses, incorporating data from different areas and synthesizing findings that include cross-functional impacts, trends, and industry news.
  • Translate findings into process improvements.
  • Manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting and updates to the management team.
  • Maintain KPIs for assigned areas.
  • Provide insights into business performance and translate findings into potential action plans.
  • Conduct financial evaluation research and analysis by compiling data from various internal and external sources.
  • Present research and analysis results to management.
  • Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for assigned business areas, including variance analysis and sensitivity testing.
  • Play a leadership role in critical planning and analysis processes.
  • Develop and own complex short-term (1 year) forecasting models and support long-term (3–5 year) forecasting models, primarily driver-based on multi-functional business activity inputs.
  • Lead process improvements and strategic initiatives within functional areas under supervision.
  • Analyze business processes and provide suggestions for improvement.
  • Articulate the impact of analysis, modeling, and business decision support on key financial measures such as Gross Profit, Operating Margin, Days on Hand (DOH), and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Conceptualize, develop, and present business cases to financial and business leadership.
  • Act as an internal consultant and interact with management at all levels.
  • Perform other relevant duties as required.

Requirements

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of FP&A experience.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle and financial reporting and planning tools is a plus.
  • Strong strategic planning, financial, and operations/business background; not purely financial.
  • Financial modeling experience.
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in complex financial analysis.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.

Work Environment

  • Remote Role: This position is classified as remote, with work performed from the associate's primary residence. Remote associates may work from the office but are not required to do so. Occasional travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations may be required for meetings or business reasons.

Physical Environment/Demands

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • The role involves sitting for long periods at a desk or computer terminal.
  • Regular use of hands for typing, handling office equipment, and communication.
  • May require stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching to complete job duties.
