Overview
A fast-paced, client-driven organization is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to manage daily accounting functions, maintain financial accuracy, and support client operations efficiently. This role is critical in executing accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, and ensuring smooth financial operations for multiple clients within the Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) team.
The Staff Accountant will work closely with internal teams to streamline processes, ensure compliance, and enhance financial reporting. The position leverages cloud-based accounting tools such as Sage Intacct, FloQast, QuickBooks Online, and Xero to automate workflows and optimize financial close processes.
This is a fully remote, full-time position based anywhere in the U.S., reporting to the Team Manager(s).
Responsibilities
Global Support
- Operate within a global framework supporting teams across Canada, South Africa, U.K., and the U.S.
- Adapt to varying schedules and priorities to meet deadlines and participate in virtual meetings.
- Facilitate communication and coordination across CAAS teams to support sales operational efficiency.
- Maintain scheduling flexibility for time-sensitive tasks and cross-regional collaboration.
Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, account reconciliations, and management reports.
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations focusing on automation and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
- Utilize FloQast for financial close management, workflow tracking, and reconciliation processes.
Client Support & Advisory Services
- Support clients’ day-to-day accounting needs and provide timely financial insights.
- Assist in onboarding new clients, setting up Sage Intacct, and implementing financial workflows.
- Respond promptly to client requests, ensuring exceptional service and relationship management.
Client Engagement & Project Contribution
- Maintain minimum billable hours as defined by leadership.
- Provide strategic recommendations to improve clients’ HR and payroll efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales and account management teams to align deliverables with client expectations.
- Identify opportunities for service expansion and added client value.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Leverage Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online for financial reporting, automation, and process optimization.
- Implement best practices including automation, process standardization, and internal controls.
- Support financial technology integration projects for accounting, payroll, and reporting systems.
- Assist in payroll processing and compliance, including wage calculations and tax filings.
- Optimize reconciliation and close processes using FloQast, QuickBooks Online, and Sage Intacct.
Internal Collaboration & Process Alignment
- Participate in global accounting meetings to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Work with operations and finance teams to align accounting practices with business needs.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules, tax filings, and compliance documentation.
- Provide financial data and reports to leadership for internal decision-making.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting experience as a Staff Accountant or Controller, preferably in outsourced accounting, advisory services, or a CPA firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA eligibility preferred for Senior Staff Accountant or 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct (required).
- Experience using FloQast for close management, reconciliation tracking, and workflow automation (required).
- Strong technical expertise in multi-entity, multi-currency accounting.
- Experience with payroll, sales tax filings, and financial audits.
- Strong analytical skills and proactive problem-solving ability.
Preferred Experience
- Background in SaaS, outsourced accounting, or financial consulting.
- Familiarity with ERP implementations and financial technology integrations.
- Experience in client-facing financial advisory roles.
Work Environment
- Fully remote work with potential onsite travel based on business needs.
