Staff Accountant - Client Accounting Services

Overview

This fully remote Staff Accountant role supports a client services function in an accounting and advisory environment. The organization is expanding and is looking to add two (2) Staff Accountants who can manage a book of clients, deliver accurate monthly close work, and thrive in a high-trust, high-accountability setting.

Base compensation is listed as “up to $72K + bonus” with 100% employer-paid benefits.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple clients using QuickBooks Online
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on an ongoing basis
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L and balance sheets
• Record and review journal entries for payroll, revenue, accruals, and adjustments
• Support month-end close with accuracy and consistency
• Assist with cleanup of prior-period books for new clients when needed
• Collaborate with managers and teammates to ensure work is completed on time
• Occasionally join onboarding or client calls when clarification or support is needed

What Success Looks Like

• Clients’ books are consistently clean and current
• Bank feeds are reviewed regularly
• Clients receive timely responses and clear communication
• Ability to manage clients with varying levels of complexity
• Work is completed steadily throughout the month rather than delayed until month-end

Requirements

• 2 or more years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting (preferably in a public accounting or outsourced accounting environment)
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience
• Solid understanding of debits and credits and how financial statements work
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior client cleanup experience (a BIG PLUS)
