Staff Accountant - Client Accounting Services

Overview

This role is a fully remote Staff Accountant position supporting client accounting services. The organization is expanding and seeking two (2) Staff Accountants to own an assigned book of clients and help ensure timely, accurate month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple clients using QuickBooks Online
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on an ongoing basis
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L and balance sheets
• Record and review journal entries for payroll, revenue, accruals, and adjustments
• Support month-end close with accuracy and consistency
• Assist with cleanup of prior-period books for new clients when needed
• Collaborate with managers and teammates to ensure work is completed on time
• Occasionally join onboarding or client calls for clarification or support

What Success Looks Like

• Clients’ books are consistently clean and current
• Bank feeds are reviewed regularly (not ignored until month-end)
• Clients receive timely responses and clear communication
• Ability to manage clients with varying levels of complexity
• Steady work throughout the month rather than end-of-month cramming

Requirements

• 2 or more years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a public accounting or outsourced accounting environment
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience
• Solid understanding of debits and credits and how financial statements work
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote environment
• Availability during core business hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Cleanup experience (BIG PLUS)
