Overview
This role offers an opportunity to join a rapidly maturing, agile accounting team focused on continuous improvement and innovation. The team employs a "continuous close" approach, achieving a fast 2-day monthly close while maintaining strong collaboration with other departments. The position reports to the Manager of Financial Reporting and involves working with modern finance tools to streamline processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of the monthly close process and financial reporting.
- Mature and scale accounting practices to maintain accuracy and quality.
- Collaborate with internal business partners to develop creative solutions for business challenges and transaction workflows through process optimization and standardization.
- Operate and optimize finance systems and applications such as Navan, Expensify, Workday, and others, including managing user onboarding and offboarding.
- Assist with general ledger activities including payroll, accruals, and debt accounting.
- Support larger finance projects such as annual audits.
- Process and reconcile payroll-related journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely recording of payroll expenses, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions.
- Manage unexpected accounting issues proactively.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in GAAP or Tax accounting.
- Degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
- Public accounting or SaaS experience required.
- Experience or familiarity with modern finance tools such as Sage Intacct, Netsuite, Workday, Airbase, FloQast, Navan, and Expensify.
- Advanced skills in Google Sheets and/or Excel, including data manipulation, charts, formulas, pivots, and grouping.
- Strong service mentality focused on internal customer satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate accounting concepts clearly to non-expert audiences.
- Desire to continuously improve both personally and organizationally.
- CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $65,000 to $90,000 USD.

- Headquarters located in Herndon, VA.
- Remote candidates considered if able to travel quarterly to the office for team meetings.
