Staff Accountant (Temporary)

Overview

Temporary Staff Accountant (1099 contractor) for 4 months, beginning on November 16.

This role supports core accounting operations including daily cash application, prepaid expense tracking, corporate credit card and travel & expense (T&E) processing, payroll-related journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Cash Application: Post daily cash transactions and coordinate with the Accounts Payable team to resolve discrepancies.
• Credit Card / T&E Reconciliation: Ensure accurate and timely synchronization of all credit card and T&E transactions from Ramp to NetSuite, verifying data integrity across both systems.
• Prepaids: Maintain prepaid expense schedules and prepare monthly amortization entries.
• Payroll: Prepare and record payroll-related journal entries.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Assist with general ledger maintenance, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Account Reconciliations: Complete monthly reconciliations of cash, prepaid, credit card, T&E, and payroll accounts; research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Audit Support: Support internal and external audits as needed.
• Process Improvements: Identify opportunities and help implement process improvements within existing workflows.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Handle special projects and ad-hoc reporting as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role
• Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite highly preferred)
• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritize effectively
• Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using T&E platforms (e.g., Ramp)
• Experience using Claude or other AI tools
• Experience working in multinational companies
