Overview
This role involves financial analysis and business partnership within a national private school network operating on a proprietary learning and operations management platform. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the position serves as a strategic business partner to functional leaders, supporting decision-making through financial analysis, performance assessment, and implementation of financial strategy.
Responsibilities
- Manage site-level performance by partnering with state General Manager teams to develop site-level forecasts that inform strategic and financial decisions.
- Collaborate with the Real Estate team to ensure accuracy and completeness of pro-forma modeling, returns forecasting, and project-level budget versus actual analyses.
- Provide financial guidance and analysis to cross-functional teams on operational decisions, including forecasting headcount and budgeting paid marketing spend.
- Work with the Controller to align forward-looking financial views with actuals from the accounting system.
- Support the Monthly Business Review process and own the delivery of management financial reporting, both programmatic and ad hoc.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in corporate finance, including financial modeling and reporting; experience in finance business partnership is a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: real estate, capital planning, business partnership, or corporate finance, with enthusiasm to develop expertise in the others.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude, Codex) for financial modeling and analysis.
- Resilience and a builder mindset suited for a startup environment addressing complex challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt communication style to various audiences and levels of financial sophistication.
- Solid financial acumen combining rigorous analysis with financial intuition to clarify decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in businesses with a real estate footprint such as education, quick service restaurants, fitness, or dentistry.
- Exposure to capital planning, project budgeting, and construction finance.
- Familiarity with software tools such as NetSuite, Ramp, Salesforce, and Hex.
