Overview

This role supports climate technology founders by providing financial modeling, analysis, research, and finance operations support. The position is suited for candidates with 3–6 years of experience in management consulting (MBB), investment banking, or a comparable analytical background.

The organization partners with climate and energy-transition companies as a strategic finance resource, working alongside founders from seed stage through growth. The team has helped clients raise hundreds of millions in venture funding and navigate critical scaling challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain three-statement financial models, scenario analyses, and KPI dashboards used by founders to guide company strategy and investor communications.
  • Support fundraising efforts across equity, venture debt, and grants by contributing to pitch materials, data rooms, diligence responses, and round structuring.
  • Conduct financial analysis including budgeting, benchmarking, KPI tracking, and proactive issue identification.
  • Prepare investor and board reporting that clearly and accurately communicates company performance.
  • For clients whose finance functions are managed by the team, oversee finance back office processes such as bookkeeping, accounts payable, invoicing, and payroll to ensure quality delivery.
  • Research sectors and business models within climate and energy transition to develop expertise that informs strategic advice.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in a highly analytical environment such as management consulting (MBB), investment banking, or equivalent.
  • Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to build clean, well-structured models featuring clear assumptions and defensible logic.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of confidently presenting to founders and board members.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with a rigorous approach to validating numbers.
  • Ability to learn quickly across diverse and evolving subject matter in climate tech.
  • Proactive ownership mentality, with a focus on anticipating needs and solving problems independently.
  • Passion for climate and energy transition work, motivated by impact and the opportunity to apply analytical skills to critical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with venture-backed startups.
  • Exposure to fundraising processes from either the investor or company side.
  • Working knowledge of finance and accounting frameworks.
  • Interest in leveraging AI tools to improve workflows.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $110,000–$150,000

Location

  • Remote position within US time zones
  • Occasional travel to client sites and to New York City for Climate Week each September
