Overview

A global manufacturing leader is seeking a Tax Controversy Manager to join their Tax Department. This role involves supporting the Tax Controversy team by managing tax controversy cases and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.

Location: Remote

Pay Range: $50 - $60 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end US federal and state tax controversy cases, from initial request through resolution.
  • Research and defend the organization's technical positions on tax issues, shaping audit strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide clear and timely responses to tax authorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, templates, and leverage technology to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or in-house tax controversy work.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Law, or a related field.
  • CPA, bar admission, or relevant professional certification is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to clearly explain complex issues.
