Overview
This role is for a Tax Manager specializing in US individual tax services. The position involves providing tax preparation, planning, and consulting services specifically to partners within the organization. It offers a stable work schedule without the typical intense tax busy season, with most weeks being 40 hours. The role supports fully remote work from any location within the West, Mountain, or Central time zones.
Responsibilities
- Provide compliance and consulting services related to individual tax matters for partners.
- Perform technical review of complex individual tax returns and all supporting tax documentation.
- Lead multiple engagements delivering proactive tax planning and strategic consulting.
- Apply technical developments to complex tax situations to enhance technical competence.
- Participate in professional development through individual efforts and firm-wide learning programs.
- Support the growth and development of team members by mentoring and helping associates meet their professional goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, law, or a related business field; advanced degrees such as a Master's are desirable.
- CPA certification is required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in tax return review and planning for high net worth individuals.
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance for individuals, including knowledge of composite, withholding, and pass-through entity tax.
- Experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services within a professional services firm.
- At least two years of supervisory experience, including mentoring and counseling associates, is preferred.
- Strong management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with CCH Axcess, PDFlyer, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- National pay rate range: $72,000 - $143,240.
- California pay rate range: $78,000 - $186,220.
- Compensation is influenced by factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.
