Overview

A global technology organization is seeking a Tax Manager to join their Global Tax Team, reporting to the Head of Global Tax Planning. This role involves contributing to the global tax strategy, developing tax-efficient structures, ensuring compliance with complex US international tax laws and regulations, and partnering cross-functionally to support business strategy. The position requires tax technical expertise, a collaborative and curious mindset, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and the ability to identify opportunities for automation and AI adoption within tax processes.

The organization offers flexible work arrangements, allowing employees to work from an office, home, or a combination of both. They hire candidates in any country where they have a legal entity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the global tax model and assist in executing global tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s global effective tax rate, cash tax position, and operational efficiency.
  • Support quarterly and annual income tax provisions through preparation and/or review of US calculations.
  • Maintain US international tax calculations, including but not limited to NCTI, FDDEI, BEAT, Subpart F, IRC Sections 986/987, and foreign tax credit.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external advisors to assess tax implications of business activities, new initiatives, and cash tax forecasting.
  • Monitor global tax developments, including US legislative changes; assess impacts and communicate recommendations to leadership.
  • Drive process improvements, including AI/automation opportunities, technology adoption, and scalable workflows to support a growing global footprint.
  • Support M&A projects through tax due diligence, evaluation of transaction structures, post-acquisition integration, and ongoing compliance management.

Requirements

  • CPA and/or JD required.
  • Master of Taxation or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a combination of Big 4 and corporate tax departments with multinational operations.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes, including provision review, uncertain tax positions, and global tax reporting.
  • Working knowledge of US international tax laws and regulations (Transfer Pricing, Subpart F, NCTI, FDDEI, BEAT, FTCs).
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills, including experience developing forecasting models and using tax forecasting tools.
  • Curiosity and a proactive, hands-on approach to exploring AI and new tools, processes, and technologies.
  • Ownership mentality, strong communication skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Compensation & Benefits

The organization offers competitive and equitable compensation programs. Base pay ranges for new hires in the United States vary by geographic pay zones:

  • Zone A: $144,900 - $189,175
  • Zone B: $130,500 - $170,375
  • Zone C: $120,600 - $157,450

Base pay within the range is determined by the candidate's skills, expertise, and experience. This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

Location

Flexible work location options are available, including office, home, or hybrid arrangements. Candidates must be located in countries where the organization has a legal entity. For US-based candidates, pay zones apply based on geographic location.
