Overview
A well-established accounting firm is seeking experienced Tax Managers to join a sophisticated and growing tax practice. The ideal candidates will have 6-10 years of experience working with ultra-high net worth individuals, complex private client services, fiduciary, or private foundation consulting.
Tax Managers will collaborate closely with Partners to deliver innovative tax solutions to a diverse client base influenced by Silicon Valley. The practice serves influential individuals and founders, pre-IPO and public companies, as well as trade and investment partnerships across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Review complex individual, fiduciary, partnership, and private foundation tax returns, including alternative investments, stock options/equity compensation, QSBS, venture capital, and carried interest.
- Identify and anticipate client tax issues, providing consultative and strategic solutions for wealth preservation, estate planning, charitable contributions (private foundations, CRTs), and multi-generational wealth transfer strategies.
- Evaluate and manage multi-state and international tax considerations and filings.
- Support practice growth through development of AI initiatives, process improvements, and assisting with client proposals.
- Stay current with continuous changes in tax laws and collaborate to implement best practices.
- Mentor, train, and supervise Associates and Seniors, maintaining high standards for team support and guidance.
- Participate in recruitment of new staff and interns.
Qualifications
- Current and active CPA license.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree focused in Accounting or Taxation, JD or LLM.
- 6-10 years of public accounting taxation experience serving ultra-high-net worth clients.
- Self-motivated and passionate about serving external clients.
- Strong knowledge of technical tax platforms, research tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining client relationships.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience managing a team of tax professionals.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $120,000 - $230,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, education, and geographic location.
