Overview

The organization is seeking a Tax Senior Manager for its National Tax Office (NTO) to provide federal tax expertise across a range of topics, including corporate taxation, partnership taxation, and mergers and acquisitions. This highly visible role works closely with NTO specialists and client teams and supports the development and growth of the tax practice.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with fellow NTO specialists to ensure technical soundness on tax consulting and advisory engagements.
  • Provide tax consulting and advisory services to professionals and their clients.
  • Research and write technical tax memoranda.
  • Develop thought leadership and other external marketing materials.
  • Analyze new laws, regulations, and sub-regulatory guidance, and produce internal and external thought leadership to help mitigate risks and identify opportunities.
  • Develop and deliver internal staff training on tax issues.
  • Support internal webinars and presentations.
  • Assist with firm-wide quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate with mergers and acquisitions professionals within the Strategic Tax Advisory team.

Requirements

  • CPA and/or JD.
  • At least 10 years working with federal tax issues related to CPMA issues.
  • Significant experience in business taxation within a Big 4, large national, or regional public accounting firm environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate taxation, including tax planning, tax reform implications, and complex business tax issues.
  • Strong experience advising clients on mergers & acquisitions, including transaction structuring, due diligence, and related tax considerations.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Engaging and effective presentation style.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and technical skills, with a desire to further develop expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Government experience.
