Overview

A well-established, full-service accounting and advisory firm in the Philadelphia region is seeking a Senior Tax Manager. The firm serves a diverse client base including closely held businesses, family offices, real estate entities, and nonprofit organizations. The role offers remote work flexibility with occasional in-person meetings, requiring candidates to be within a commutable distance to Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, sales, and property taxes.
  • Monitor tax legislation changes and adjust processes to maintain compliance.
  • Review and approve tax calculations and supporting documentation.
  • Develop and execute tax strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize credits, deductions, and incentives.
  • Evaluate tax implications of business transactions, investments, and acquisitions.
  • Identify and implement tax optimization and process improvements.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals.
  • Oversee workload distribution and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Support professional development through coaching and training.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Executive leadership to provide tax guidance aligned with business initiatives.
  • Serve as liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Translate complex tax concepts for non-tax stakeholders.
  • Lead responses to tax audits, inquiries, and examinations.
  • Conduct internal reviews to identify potential exposure and implement corrective measures.
  • Support resolution of tax controversies, including negotiations and settlements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's in Taxation or CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in tax compliance and planning within corporate or public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency with tax software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $140,000 - $200,000 per year
