Overview

This role leads an investor relations team that coordinates introductions and manages the end-to-end process from investor outreach through founder calls. The employer operates a vetted private capital network that matches breakout founders with investors such as family offices, VCs, and strategic investors.

The organization is paid by the founder for the work, not by the funding round. Investor members pay nothing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of five associates.
  • Set weekly priorities and targets, and identify where team members need support.
  • Participate in mandate calls with family offices and funds as needed.
  • Review pitches before they go out and coach associates in real time.
  • Turn member-fit pitches into founder calls.
  • Ensure the team is accountable for results across mandate calls, activations, pitches, founder calls, and referrals.
  • Drive associate growth through clear performance standards, honest feedback, and improvement plans.
  • Handle hiring and onboarding as the team grows.
  • Uphold a quality bar: introductions should meet the standard the leader would personally stand behind.
  • Provide weekly one-on-one coaching to each associate.
  • Review wins and losses weekly and share performance numbers with both founders.

Requirements

  • Prior experience leading a team (ideally around five people), with evidence that the leader made team members better.
  • Investment-side experience, such as:
    • a family office
    • VC
    • growth fund
    • investment bank
    • or capital raising for private companies
  • Understanding of how family offices decide and what drives them to take founder calls.
  • Ability to run the call independently, demonstrating strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to deliver hard feedback early and kindly while maintaining uncompromising standards.
  • Comfort using AI tooling and a clean CRM to handle administrative work so time can be focused on people.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience directly supporting or coordinating investor outreach and capital-raising workflows in a venture or private capital context.
