This is a volunteer opportunity facilitated by a nonprofit organization focused on social change through pro bono connections.
The volunteer will support establishing and piloting nonprofit bookkeeping and grant-tracking over a 12-week engagement, requiring 3–5 hours per week. Key deliverables include organized financial records, tracking of restricted funds, periodic grant financial summaries, and simple templates for leadership and board review.
Accurate bookkeeping and clear grant reporting will help demonstrate responsible use of funds, strengthen grant compliance, and free staff to expand safe rides and survivor support services. Volunteers will directly contribute to increasing the organization's ability to provide safe transportation and connect survivors to healing resources.
The organization will collaborate with the volunteer to share necessary documents, confirm priorities, and ensure reports and templates are actionable and ready for leadership and board use.
The organization is a survivor-led initiative that facilitates escape from domestic abuse by funding safe transportation for survivors. It helps survivors leave dangerous situations and begin anew with dignity, support, and access to healing resources. Safe rides are provided to survivors who need a way out, along with connections to trusted partners offering mental health care, education, wellness, and long-term recovery resources.
As a fiscally sponsored initiative under a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, donations are tax-deductible and used responsibly to support ride access and survivor safety. The organization is committed to supporting each survivor's path forward, recognizing that leaving abuse involves rebuilding a life with safety and hope.
The organization addresses the critical barrier of lack of safe transportation, which is a major unmet need keeping survivors trapped in dangerous situations. By providing safe rides and connecting survivors to resources, it helps make the critical moment of leaving abuse safer and supports survivors in starting anew.
Additionally, the organization offers a healing space with trauma-informed practices such as meditation, crystal bowls, movement, and yoga to support recovery, resilience, and restoration of safety and wholeness.
