Volunteer Treasurer

Overview

This organization is seeking a Treasurer to provide hands-on financial leadership and accountability for a small, all-volunteer nonprofit serving women veterans, active-duty military women, and women first responders in North Alabama.

The role is essential to keeping operations running—there is no paid staff, including the Executive Director. This position will serve as one of a handful of people maintaining the organization’s financial health.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly bookkeeping in QuickBooks
• Prepare a Treasurer’s Report for the board
• Maintain a working budget
• Coordinate with the organization’s CPA on the annual 990

Requirements

• Real bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Ability to consistently manage monthly responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Nonprofit fund accounting experience

• This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
