Overview

A leading technology organization is seeking a Workday Finance Business Analyst to join their Enterprise Systems team. This role is embedded as a key partner to the Finance organization and involves owning the day-to-day configuration, support, and continuous improvement of Workday Financials. The analyst will serve as the primary point of escalation for Finance team requests and drive the delivery of strategic system initiatives aligned with broader business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary Workday Financials administrator and main support contact for the Finance team, handling configuration issues, user requests, and system inquiries promptly and with high quality
  • Diagnose and resolve configuration issues across Workday Financials modules including Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expenses, Procurement, and Banking & Settlement
  • Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional design specifications and Workday configuration solutions
  • Support and implement enhancements, new feature rollouts, and process improvements from requirements gathering through testing and change management
  • Participate in Workday semi-annual release cycles by reviewing release notes, assessing functional impact, coordinating user acceptance testing, and managing deployment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation such as configuration guides, business process flows, and training materials
  • Work with the broader Enterprise Systems team on cross-functional initiatives involving Workday HCM, Adaptive Planning, Integrations, and third-party connected systems
  • Support Finance leadership on strategic priorities including process automation, reporting improvements, and scalability initiatives related to company growth
  • Serve as a liaison between Finance and IT to ensure system changes are delivered with appropriate controls, thorough testing, and minimal disruption to financial operations
  • Manage support tickets and project tasks through a defined intake and prioritization process, proactively communicating status and expectations to stakeholders

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on Workday Financials configuration and support experience in a business analyst or functional analyst role
  • Deep knowledge of one or more Workday Financial Management modules with the ability to independently configure business processes, validation rules, condition rules, and security
  • Proven ability to support day-to-day Finance operations while contributing to project work and strategic initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate competing priorities and communicate clearly across Finance and IT at all levels
  • Experience in business requirements gathering, gap analysis, and writing functional design documents
  • Solid understanding of core finance and accounting concepts (GAAP, month-end close, AP/AR workflows, expense management) and their application to Workday configuration
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple open requests and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative problem-solving approach and a track record of building trusted relationships with Finance business partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday Pro certification in Financial Management
  • Experience supporting Workday in a publicly traded company with SOX compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Planning and its integration with Financials
  • Exposure to Workday Prism Analytics or Workday Reporting (composite reports, matrix reports, calculated fields)
  • Experience with Finance-adjacent applications such as NetSuite, RevPro, or Blackline that integrate with Workday
  • Prior involvement in Workday optimization or module expansion projects supporting Finance teams

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $91,700.00 - $137,500.00 (base salary)
  • Potential eligibility for equity awards and participation in incentive plans such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions
  • Final offer depends on geographic location, relevant experience, professional background, and skill set
