Overview
This remote Senior Accountant position supports financial accounting systems, reporting, compliance, and daily accounting operations within a multi-entity environment. Reporting to finance leadership, the role is integral to financial reporting, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, GAAP compliance, audit support, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, process-driven, and capable of working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Planning, Policies & Finance Strategy
- Support the development and implementation of finance strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in annual budgeting and long-term business planning.
- Assist in setting short-term and long-term financial goals and forecasts.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with personnel, departments, and management.
- Promote teamwork, inclusion, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Financial Accounting System Oversight
- Oversee financial accounting systems including journal entries, bank reconciliations, budget analysis, internal controls, and financial statement preparation.
- Post daily financial transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and generate financial reports.
- Manage job cost reports for staff time allocations and project intercompany charges.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review accurate financial statements.
- Prepare journal entries and complex account reconciliations including bank, fixed asset, and revenue reconciliations.
- Develop Excel-based workbooks, financial models, and analytical tools to support projects and planning.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial performance.
Month-End, Quarter-End & Year-End Close
- Assist with timely completion of close processes.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of financial data.
- Support reporting and reconciliation activities across multiple entities and projects.
- Maintain financial records and meet reporting deadlines.
Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Analyze financial data, trends, and variances.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial projections.
- Enter budgets and adjustments into financial systems.
- Prepare financial budgets according to schedules.
- Provide interpretation of financial data to support decision-making.
Audits, Compliance & Internal Controls
- Collaborate with external auditors and provide documentation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen controls.
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and sensitive business information.
Process Improvement & Operations Support
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes.
- Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and operational improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments and leadership.
- Apply innovative solutions to complex accounting and operational challenges.
- Support initiatives that improve financial performance and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in financial accounting.
- Experience with financial analysis and posting journal entries to the General Ledger.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret financial information and communicate findings effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to explain financial and payroll processes clearly.

Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $80,000 - $100,000, based on experience.
