Accountant (ALE)

Overview

The organization is seeking Accountants to create realistic evaluation tasks that assess AI agents’ ability to complete everyday accounting workflows. Responsibilities include developing original tasks and reference solutions, then evaluating agents working with financial records, spreadsheets, and accounting software.

• Location: Remote
• Compensation: US$80–US$150 per hour, depending on expertise and project requirements

Responsibilities

• Create tasks covering bookkeeping and core accounting workflows, including:
  • Journal entries
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Financial statement preparation
• Develop reference solutions with accurate calculations, supporting documentation, and clearly explained accounting treatment.
• Evaluate agents as they:
  • Classify transactions
  • Reconcile accounts
  • Correct discrepancies
  • Prepare accounting reports
• Design accounting scenarios involving:
  • Incomplete records
  • Duplicate transactions
  • Misclassified expenses
  • Period-end adjustments
• Define evaluation criteria for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and traceability to source documents.
• Identify accounting errors, unsupported assumptions, and mistakes in agents’ use of accounting tools.

Requirements

• Degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional expertise.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting.
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial statements.
• Experience with month-end closing and applying relevant accounting standards.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and accounting software.
• Fluent English, with strong written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, SAP, or comparable platforms.
• Experience managing accounting records across multiple businesses or industries.
• Experience reviewing accounting work and documenting procedures.
