Overview

Accountant II position, full-time, non-exempt, 37.5 hours per week with overtime as required.

Location: Lake Zurich, IL, US

Department: Corporate Accounting

This role involves data entry, account reconciliation, client invoicing, and general accounting processes within a mortgage subservicing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily data entry for client remittances, accounts payable, and wire transfers/ACH payments.
  • Prepare monthly client remittances and balance client general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger account analysis.
  • Prepare and post general journal entries into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile corporate and subservicing bank accounts.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth transaction processing.
  • Assist in preparation of daily wire transfers, ACH transactions, daily check runs, and bank deposits.
  • Support special projects assigned to the department.
  • Assist with document requests from internal and external auditors.
  • Complete annual regulatory compliance training.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in the mortgage industry preferred.
  • Bookkeeping experience.
