Accountant - Portland Metro

Overview

This role is for an Accountant based in the Portland Metro Area. The position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $95,000 per year, with an additional variable annual bonus of $10,000 paid quarterly. It is a full-time role with standard business hours Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm local time.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
• Maintain the general ledger including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Oversee revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP, including deferred revenue and contract liabilities
• Conduct financial analysis to identify variances and provide insights for business decisions
• Enhance and scale accounting systems, internal controls, documentation, and automation workflows
• Handle finance operations such as invoice approvals, payment processing, vendor coordination, and banking activities
• Collaborate with Finance leadership, Operations, Product teams, and external partners to support reporting, compliance, budgeting, and strategic initiatives

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in public or corporate accounting
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Familiarity with revenue recognition principles, preferably ASC 606
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar
• Preferred experience with payment platforms like Stripe and expense platforms such as Ramp or Bill.com
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred
• Experience in high-growth or startup environments
• Experience with deferred revenue or contract-based business models
