Accountant

Overview

A nonprofit organization is seeking a compassionate, pro bono accountant to support its mission of empowering worldwide communities that care for individuals with disabilities/disabled individuals through rehabilitation-focused training programs. This is a volunteer position, although the successful applicant may be eligible for a stipend.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile one checking account and one savings account quarterly.
• Submit IRS Form 990.
• Manage payroll and related taxes for two part-time employees.
• Perform monthly bookkeeping for seven accounts involving around 1,400 transactions per year.
• Provide general compliance consultation.
• Conduct account auditing, although this is not required.

Required Qualifications

• Must be based in the USA.
• Demonstrated high levels of fiduciary responsibility.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks.
