Overview
This role involves performing general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules. Reporting to the Accounting Lead, the Accountant 2 will assist in documenting accounting projects and handle varied assignments that often require interpretation and independent decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions
- Ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
- Provide financial support including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing budget variances
- Analyze and prepare statutory accounts, financial statements, and reports
- Understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives and their linkages to related areas
- Make decisions regarding work methods with minimal direction, following established guidelines and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 1 year accounting experience including financial reporting preparation and journal entries
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and Word
- Willingness to accommodate Eastern Standard Time (EST) and Central Standard Time (CST) work hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Prior experience in public or corporate accounting
- Experience supporting project work
- Knowledge of SQL
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 - $88,600 per year (full-time, 40 hours per week)
