Overview
An organization is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their Finance Department. This role involves performing advanced clerical tasks related to accounting functions and supporting financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Receive accounting information from internal and external sources including other finance sections, departments, suppliers, and clients.
- Audit invoices to ensure appropriate supporting documentation.
- Match information and documentation with accounting records; verify accounts and subjobs for accuracy and legitimacy.
- Process financial records including preparation of journals, registers, ledgers, budgets, tax reports, and client invoices.
- Maintain standard accounting and financial records.
- Input information into computerized accounting systems.
- Prepare information for use by other departments, clients, and suppliers.
- Perform financial reconciliations and proofs.
- Respond to inquiries and prepare standard analyses.
- Maintain computerized databases for tracking and informational purposes.
- Provide guidance to lower-level accounting support personnel.
- Perform other related responsibilities as appropriate.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field preferred; or High School diploma with 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Basic PC skills including MS Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of accounting processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cost Point, Concur, and Ariba systems.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $19.86 - $34.76 per hour.
