Overview
This role involves joining a finance team focused on building and maintaining new finance processes to support the rollout of new offerings into various states. The Accounting Associate will collaborate with business stakeholders, parent companies, and state regulators. The position requires strong attention to detail, finance and business acumen, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. Weekend work is required for submissions, including some Saturdays and Sundays, with flexible weekday schedules.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily finance reconciliations across multiple channels and states
- Develop a strong understanding of the revenue cycle and reporting processes
- Assist the Revenue Accounting team with month-end reconciliations
- Identify and investigate reconciling financial differences
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence during variance investigations
- Work with Risk, Trading, and Customer Operations teams during investigations
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Provide ad-hoc support to the wider finance team as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Qualified, part-qualified, or actively working towards CPA certification
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
- Ambitious, proactive self-starter passionate about finance and business
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with or interest in SQL and data warehouse tools (e.g., Snowflake) is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $24.42 to $32.06, depending on geography, skills, education, experience, and qualifications
