Accounting Director (Hospitality Industry)

Overview

A rapidly growing financial services organization is seeking an Accounting Director to lead its Hotel vertical. This role involves overseeing financial systems for a diverse portfolio of hospitality clients, ensuring reliable data and repeatable processes that support operational growth.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain centralized financial systems for hospitality operators with revenues ranging from $3 million to $100 million, capable of supporting rapid scaling.
• Lead, mentor, and audit a team of over 30 accounting professionals, ensuring all deliverables meet high standards of accuracy and quality.
• Direct the financial health of the Hospitality vertical, including controlled payroll, predictable multi-unit reporting, and cash flow visibility.
• Provide senior-level advisory services to founders and operators, enabling confident decision-making through comprehensive financial insights.
• Standardize and document processes across the vertical to eliminate single points of failure and reduce dependency on individual team members.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years in senior accounting roles with a dedicated focus on the hospitality industry; experience in a large corporate hotel company is a plus.
• Proven leadership experience managing large, high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.
• Expertise in GAAP, complex payroll structures, and multi-entity consolidations.
• Owner’s mindset: deliberate, selective, and able to provide concise solutions.
• Excellent communication skills: clear, confident, precise, and able to convey financial information without jargon.

Compensation & Benefits

• United States (Remote): $140,000 - $160,000 USD per year
• Canada (Remote): $130,000 - $150,000 USD per year

This is a remote position available to candidates located in the United States or Canada.
