Accounting & Finance Expert

Overview

This role involves applying expertise in accounting standards, financial reporting, and financial modeling to evaluate and improve AI-generated finance content. The goal is to ensure that AI outputs meet rigorous real-world accounting standards, particularly under US GAAP.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract position with a commitment of 10–40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated content related to US GAAP accounting standards for technical accuracy and completeness
• Evaluate AI outputs concerning SEC reporting, financial statement preparation, and regulatory compliance
• Assess AI-produced financial models, including discounted cash flows (DCF), valuations, and Excel-based models, for correctness and practical applicability
• Identify errors, misstatements, and gaps in AI-generated accounting guidance and financial analyses
• Provide structured, detailed feedback to improve AI understanding and communication of finance concepts
• Create and review sample financial scenarios, journal entries, and workflow examples to teach AI proper accounting practices
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Requirements

• Experienced accountant with hands-on knowledge of financial workflows (CPA, staff/senior accountant, controller, or equivalent experience)
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP principles and their practical application
• Familiarity with financial statement preparation, period-end close processes, and general ledger management
• Comfortable with financial modeling concepts such as DCF, comparable company analysis, and Excel-based models
• Detail-oriented with a methodical and accurate approach to reviewing technical content
• Strong written communication skills in English
• No prior AI or technology experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Active CPA license (Philippine or US) or equivalent professional certification
• Experience with SEC reporting or public company accounting under US or Philippine standards
• Background in audit, tax, or advisory roles at a public accounting firm or business process outsourcing (BPO) environment
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) or accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
• Experience with advanced Excel modeling, VBA, or financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
• Familiarity with IFRS, PFRS, or cross-border accounting standards
• Prior experience reviewing, writing, or editing technical finance content
