Accounting Manager

Overview

A rapidly growing FinTech organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead its month-end closing process and oversee the accounting team. This role requires a process-driven, technically proficient leader who excels at team management and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and financial closing processes
• Manage and lead members of the accounting team
• Supervise daily accounting operations
• Collaborate with internal teams to execute external audits successfully
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and international statutory reporting requirements
• Review reconciliations, work papers, and supporting schedules for quality and accuracy
• Guide the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controls
• Develop and implement scalable processes to support company growth and drive continuous improvement
• Enable the organization to meet internal and external reporting requirements
• Gain familiarity with blockchain technology, enterprise cryptocurrency, and regulatory compliance approaches

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of combined public accounting (audit) and private/in-house accounting experience
• Experience in start-up environments and/or financial services
• Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA license
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Experience managing and overseeing an accounting team
• Proficiency with NetSuite ERP or other cloud-based accounting software
• Commitment to improving accounting operations, controls, and financial reporting processes, including leveraging systems and technology for workflow and scalability enhancements
• Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $149,259 - $175,599
