Accounting Manager – Remote (U.S. Based)

Overview

An accounting manager role is available for a fully remote position based in the U.S., focused on serving clients in the construction industry. This position involves managing a portfolio of construction clients, providing high-level accounting and controller services, and leading a team to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 15 to 30 construction clients, ensuring smooth and timely financial processes.
• Prepare and present monthly and year-end financial statements, job costing, and Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports.
• Oversee, mentor, and support bookkeeping and administrative assistants to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Implement and maintain advanced controller services including online bill pay, invoicing, KPI tracking, and monthly WIP reporting.
• Lead client meetings, translating complex accounting data into actionable insights.
• Troubleshoot and resolve client accounting challenges, often under tight deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA certification is a strong plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in both public accounting (CPA firm) and working directly with construction companies is highly valued.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online with at least 3 years of experience.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and clearly explain financial information.
• Proven leadership experience managing a team.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously without compromising quality.

Compensation & Benefits
