Overview

This full-time position is for a Manager of Shareholder Support & Corporate Accounting Policy within the financial services sector. The role reports to the Director of Accounting Policy and involves leading the shareholder support function as well as providing accounting policy support. The position requires collaboration with senior accounting, legal teams, outside counsel, and the majority owner. It also includes responsibilities related to technical accounting research, writing, and special projects such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $100,000 - $125,000 per year plus annual bonus
  • Actual compensation will be determined based on location, skills, licensure, experience, and education

Responsibilities

  • Manage the shareholder support function, working closely with accounting leadership, legal, outside counsel, and majority owner
  • Maintain and reconcile the shareholder capitalization table
  • Research and respond to shareholder inquiries, collaborating with legal as needed
  • Perform periodic shareholder unit reconciliations with external recordkeepers and trust companies
  • Support equity offerings related to business acquisitions in partnership with legal
  • Monitor GAAP and SEC standard-setting developments
  • Identify impacts of new accounting standards and prepare implementation roadmaps
  • Analyze complex accounting and financial reporting issues, assisting senior management education on transaction impacts
  • Develop collaborative relationships with finance, legal, and business leaders
  • Organize and deliver technical training presentations on accounting standards
  • Conduct accounting analyses for M&A and other transactions, drafting technical memorandums documenting conclusions and coordinating with external auditors
  • Assist the External Reporting team with audited financial statement reviews
  • Provide support on special projects, including M&A activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • CPA certification required
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting experience including technical accounting research and SEC reporting
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting rules, preferably with application to wealth management and M&A transactions
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical memo writing and shareholder interaction
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects to timely completion
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • SEC reporting experience required
  • Past shareholder support experience is not required but a strong desire to gain this experience is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional FINRA and finance-related certifications
