Accounts Payable Specialist

Overview

The organization operates a network of retail stores that rely on efficient and accurate financial operations. This role supports accounts payable activities for assigned retail locations, including processing vendor invoices and payments, reconciling financial accounts, and maintaining accounting records.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions for assigned stores accurately and promptly.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and enter transactions into Epicor and Bill.com.
• Review vendor statements and process payments through the Epicor system.
• Manage and reconcile store bank accounts, including deposits and bankcard reimbursements.
• Verify daily sales deposits and ensure transactions are posted accurately and on time.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, bankcards, sales tax payable, and undeposited funds.
• Monitor the Accounts Payable email inbox and respond to vendor inquiries, including 1099 requests.
• Provide required documentation and support during periodic audits.
• Assist with additional accounting duties, projects, and business needs as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
• Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general ledger systems.
• Experience with Epicor Eagle is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new processes and support evolving business needs.
