Overview

This role is for an Accounts Payable Specialist working remotely within the United States. The position can be full-time or part-time.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and payment requests.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation.
  • Accurately enter accounts payable transactions into accounting systems.
  • Prepare and process electronic payments, ACH transfers, checks, and wire transactions.
  • Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, account inquiries, and documentation requests.
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Support audits by providing required financial documentation and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, procurement, and operations teams as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, accounting, or a related financial role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial recordkeeping.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and reporting functions.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and electronic invoice processing.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience handling confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.
