Accounts Receivable Specialist

Overview

An organization is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support the Accounting team by managing daily accounts receivable operations. This full-time remote position based in the United States involves ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, collections, and cash application. The role is key to maintaining strong customer relationships, minimizing outstanding balances, and ensuring adherence to financial controls and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on time
• Apply cash receipts and reconcile payments to customer accounts
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue balances
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
• Maintain customer account records and update information as needed
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate billing and collections processes
• Support month-end close activities related to accounts receivable
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts receivable processes and enhance efficiency
• Help ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• Experience in accounts receivable or a related role
• Experience with ERP systems such as Peoplesoft, SAP, or similar preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and internal controls

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range between $45,000 and $55,000, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location
