Overview

This role involves joining a team focused on reinventing consumer credit by providing transparent, flexible buy-now-pay-later options without hidden fees or compounding interest. The position is part of a Risk & Analytics group that supports business strategy through data-driven decision-making, partnering with various teams such as Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, Capital Markets, and Commercial.

The team works across the entire customer and merchant lifecycle, addressing challenges like optimizing checkout conversion, mitigating fraud risk, building scalable data infrastructure, and supporting international growth. The role requires ownership of the analytical lifecycle, turning complex data into actionable insights to drive efficient and intelligent growth.

Responsibilities

  • Use data analytics to uncover insights that optimize product, risk, or growth strategies across different regions.
  • Monitor portfolio health by tracking performance metrics, user behavior, and macroeconomic trends; identify risks and anomalies.
  • Write clean, efficient SQL and Python code to build scalable reporting; collaborate with Engineering to deploy machine learning and risk models.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to understand consumer lending regulations and translate them into data models and operational policies.
  • Support alignment for new product launches and market entries to ensure they meet operational capabilities and risk appetite.
  • Integrate AI tools into daily workflows to accelerate data mining and routine tasks while verifying outputs for accuracy.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role; internships or prior experience in consumer lending, fintech, or financial services are highly valued.
  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with data mining, data visualization, and foundational statistical modeling.
  • Basic understanding or strong curiosity about consumer lending regulations, fair lending principles, and application of machine learning to business problems.
  • Strong communication skills, humility, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in consumer lending regulations and fair lending principles.
  • Ability to integrate modern AI tools into analytical workflows.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Grade: I
  • Equity Grade: 5
  • Base pay range (per year):
    • California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut: $115,000 - $165,000
    • All other U.S. states: $101,000 - $151,000
  • Total compensation package may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and technology spending.

Location
