Overview
A technology-driven national physician enablement organization is seeking an AR & Case Management Specialist. The organization partners with medical groups, health plans, and health systems to improve physician practices and patient experiences through a cloud-based platform. The role supports revenue cycle management by managing claims processing and accounts receivable functions.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable accounts, including detailed analysis of aged AR and identification of systemic causes for delayed payments.
- Investigate, resolve, and appeal claim denials by contacting third-party payers and making independent decisions on claim adjustments and resubmissions.
- Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for internal teams, routing complex issues and recommending revenue cycle policy updates.
- Collaborate with practice consultants and physicians using Salesforce to optimize revenue cycle operations.
- Support the achievement of daily and monthly departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) through a team-focused approach.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in physician medical billing or equivalent claims processing.
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle performance drivers and ability to resolve complex claims independently while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams, healthcare practices, and payers.
- Ability to maintain a dedicated, private remote workspace with high-speed internet suitable for secure work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and advanced formulas.
- Experience using athenaOne tools and platforms.
- Prior experience working with Veteran Affairs (VA) payers and providers.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $23 to $25 per hour, based on experience, education, and geographic location.
- Eligibility for an annual bonus program targeted at 10%.
