Overview
An organization is seeking an Associate Property/Casualty (P/C) Premium Control Specialist to join the P/C Customer Service Team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service to policyholders, over 400 agents, and their field office staff. The specialist will manage and ensure the accuracy of premium-related financial processes within the Property and Casualty insurance sector, including billing, allocation, reconciliation, and control of insurance premiums across personal and commercial lines. The position requires adherence to departmental quality standards and metrics.
Responsibilities
- Maintain advanced knowledge of departmental processing methods, industry standards, regulations, procedures, and product lines.
- Utilize software such as Legacy, Guidewire, Salesforce, Microsoft Word, and Excel to accurately and efficiently respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of complex premium control tasks by reviewing, prioritizing, and executing multi-step financial activities.
- Resolve premium discrepancies to maintain accuracy, compliance, and service-level standards.
- Take ownership of complex customer complaints and inquiries escalated by other specialists, handling them proactively and efficiently.
- Provide clear and concise answers or solutions, including de-escalation and resolution of issues.
- Make reasonable decisions quickly and appropriately.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree with a focus on marketing, business administration, management, insurance, finance, or equivalent experience.
- Keyboarding skills of 60 words per minute with accuracy.
- Three to four years of experience in insurance processing and customer service.
- Advanced ability to learn new technologies.
- Three to four years of experience using computers, phones, and software.
- Two to four years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Three to four years of experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual skills.
- Professional designations such as AINS, ACS, or AIS.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $45,242 to $55,648.
- Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Location
- Position is based in Lansing, Michigan.
- Offers flexibility with remote or in-person work options after approximately two months of in-person training at the home office in Lansing, MI.
