Overview
This entry-level Associate Research Analyst position supports Property Tax and Research functions by conducting foundational tax research, managing administrative tasks, and assisting with compliance-related projects. The role offers exposure to business personal and real estate property taxes and is suited for individuals beginning their career in tax research and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Research and analyze compliance matters related to Property Tax, including tax due dates, depreciation schedules, jurisdictional addresses, electronic filing and payments, and form changes
- Communicate with state and local jurisdictions regarding issues or irregularities
- Conduct basic research on client questions and concisely summarize findings
- Maintain the Tax Resource Database accurately and proactively, including address information, assessment ratios, depreciation tables, due dates, and other data
- Resolve tickets created through the Property Tax Research (PTR) JIRA Project
- Facilitate collaboration between Research, Training, Compliance, and Consulting teams
- Conduct research on department questions and summarize findings as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 0–1 years of experience in tax research, compliance, or related fields
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and understand legal documentation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Moderate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Regular 40-hour work week
- Travel less than 10%
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and sounds
- Frequent repetitive hand motions
