Audit Director

Overview

This role involves planning and leading the completion of financial statement audits by applying technical expertise and leadership skills. You will work with engagement teams to address complex business issues, review highly technical matters and disclosures, and engage in meaningful client discussions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support multiple engagement teams concurrently to complete financial statement audits
• Listen to and communicate with clients regarding engagement and service expectations; resolve technical and service issues quickly and thoroughly
• Serve as a proactive problem solver and business adviser to clients across business improvement areas
• Train and supervise less experienced colleagues, providing consistent, regular feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Work at client sites, with options to be based in the office or remotely as determined by engagement needs
• Represent the organization at recruiting and professional networking events
• Build technical and professional skills through formal training
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, mathematics, or related disciplines
• Minimum of eight years of progressive public accounting experience with a mid-sized to large firm
• Active CPA license (required)
• Analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB rules and standards
• Experience with business development and continuously expanding professional networks
• Strong teamwork orientation, agility, and relationship-building skills
• Curiosity about or exposure to automation and digitization tools as part of audits or in a professional services environment
• Ability to travel as needed (Travel expectation: 25%)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
