Audit Senior- Denver or Colorado Springs

Overview

This role is with a firm that partners with regional entrepreneurial accounting firms, providing them with resources such as growth capital, talent acquisition, technology, leadership, and shared back-office services. The firm has quickly grown to rank among the Top 100 U.S. accounting firms within six months of operation.

The position is based at a large boutique CPA firm in Colorado, serving closely held businesses, nonprofits, and healthcare organizations. The firm emphasizes long-lasting client relationships and offers a team-oriented, friendly work environment with flexible work options.

Responsibilities

• Perform audit, review, or compilation procedures for clients
• Conduct effective risk and internal control assessments and audit planning
• Manage all engagement phases including planning, fieldwork, financial statement and report preparation, and delivery
• Review staff work, prepare high-risk audit sections, and draft financial statements
• Provide financial and business analysis post-fieldwork to improve client controls and procedures
• Collect and analyze client information to solve problems and meet deadlines
• Train and delegate tasks to staff based on availability and experience
• Conduct fieldwork at client locations and remotely
• Meet assigned deadlines or budgets and communicate proactively regarding progress

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
• Minimum of 2+ years of accounting firm audit experience
• CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification
• Knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards
• Excellent project management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Detail oriented

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $75,000 - $100,000 per year
