Billing Data Analyst Intern

Overview

This position supports daily billing operations through reporting, data validation, trend analysis, system testing, and process improvement. Ideal for a motivated student seeking to build analytical and operational finance skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and validate billing data from reports, trackers, and finance systems to support accurate and timely billing activities.
• Analyze billing data to identify missing information, data inconsistencies, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Develop and maintain Excel-based reports, reconciliations, trackers, and dashboards that provide visibility into billing status and operational activities.
• Support invoice-delivery analysis and maintain accurate records of invoice transmission, customer portal activity, and related follow-up.
• Participate in billing-system testing and finance projects by preparing test data, executing test scenarios, documenting results, and tracking identified issues.
• Assist with data clean-up, process documentation, work instructions, and ad hoc analysis for the North America Billing team.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college diploma or university degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Commerce, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and commitment to data accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with data analysis and reporting using Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, sorting, filtering, and data validation.
• Basic accounting, finance, billing, or order-to-cash concepts.
• Knowledge of data quality, reconciliation, root-cause analysis, and continuous process improvement.
• Exposure to enterprise systems such as SAP or another ERP platform, or an interest in learning these systems.
• Interest or familiarity with system testing, process documentation, reporting tools, and customer invoice portals.
